Hello All - I understand from the website that the people already working in the US qualify for an emergency appointment if they are returning back to work in the US. Does anyone if this rule is also applicable it is the first time you are getting a H1-B visa stamp? I got a COS and am planning to get a stamp in December. I know that more dates are available now .. but was wondering if the need arises will I eligible for emergency appointment?

Hi,

I have a question. I have H1B valid till 2012 under company A and I am working for company A now. Company B is offering me part time employment and they transferred existing H1B transfer. Now I have two H1Bs after transfer, literally. Am I correct? Now I am eligible to work for both the companies. Am I correct?

If your MIL is not in the US, you cannot technically extend the visa.

My M-I-L is already in the US. She has her I94 valid unti June 7th.
I did file for an extension online yesterday. However, i am yet to mail the documents.
What i would like to know is, can she stay until we hear from USCIS about the extension getting approved/not approved?

If at all its not approved, what happens?

Good day everyone,

I am currently on H1B (company A) and am waiting for my new employer (company B) to do the transfer of my H1B. The stupid thing that I did was I gave my two weeks notice already (I have about 10 more business days left). My questions are:

1. How would the USCIS knows my last day of employment in company A? Do they know this only if employer A terminates my H1B?

2. What if I ask employer A not to terminate my H1B, at least until the actual filing (by company B) occurs?

Please advise, suggest and/or comment.

Check recent visa bulletin. Now a days, bringing spouse by Citizen and GC holders are of not much difference. Go to India and do the marriage, and come back and file I-130. December bulletin calling for August 2010 filers. Forget about H1B and F1.

does that mean no hope left ? what r the other options ? isn't this whole process is for future employment and if i am licensed now than whats the problem in future employment i don't understand that part "future employment". i am on h1 now and if i will get my residency than i will be working at that position and i am licensed now. then why does the old date matters.

PD 2001..got labor certfied online on June28 2007

I have been waiting for the hard copy..so my Hr called Dol and asked whether they have mailed. The Dol officer sent the Cover letter by email (first page of whole approved package) to company HR showing the certification . She also told HR that cover letter was enough for I140 filing.

Is it true? Please let me know.

Friends,
Does anyone know if people who've filed for I-485 can claim unemployment insurance?......The client where I was working cancelled my project due to budget cuts :(....I was wondering if I can claim unemployment till I find a new job. Does any one know any non-desi companies hiring in the Michigan, Ohio, Illinois or Midwest in general?.....I am PMI certified Project Manager with J2EE background. Any prompt help would be highly appreciated.

Don't you get one from your employer each year. I received paper and soft copy of W-2 (the paper copy has atleast 4 copies) each year.

I do not know about I485...
but it is not hard to get copies of W2. IRS has a service that will give you copies of your fed tax papers including W2s in 60 days. You can also ask you employer, they ususlay keep a copy.

Hi-

I am applying for my EAD/AP renewal. The received date on my I-485 notice is Aug 2007. According to USCIS, if you filed after July 30 2007, you are not required to include a Fee.

I am looking at my receipt notices and I feel like I payed under the old fee structure and should include the fee. Here are the amounts
I-485 : $395.00
I-765 : $180.00
I-131: $170.00

Can someone please advice if I need to include the fee for AP and EAD renewal.

I think it is Aug 17th or afterwards and in new fee structure you do not have to pay for the renewal.

Can you please also post some insurance names for everyone's benefit. Also, do you know the difference between consulting on 1099 vs. creating an LLC and consulting? Any advantage of having an LLC? It costs $800 per year to maintain in California. I tried to find info on the web, but am confused. Any pointers are appreciated!
